ABOUT THE COURSE

HOW TO LAND A JOB IN THE SCIENCES” is a unique, two-day course focusing on the practical aspects of how to secure a job in the scientific fields. This is not just another “how to interview course” but a scientific skills refresher coupled with real world feedback on what will help secure a job in the sciences. The course materials and techniques presented are the direct result of the instructors’ numerous years of experience in laboratory management and professional staffing. The course is divided into a technical and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) compliance skills review day and an interpersonal skills and interviewing techniques day. The first day, the instructor will talk the course attendees through the execution of a real analytical test procedure (an HPLC method), reviewing at each step the scientific and CGMP skills needed to properly run the method and generate sound results. The morning of the second day the instructors will teach the course attendees how to write a resume and how to search for a job. The afternoon of the second day will consist of having some, “Industry HR experts,” to come in and talk with the class as well as conducting some mock interviews. This is truly a “one of a kind course” which is designed to TRULY help people land a job.
